South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, a frontrunner to be named as Donald Trump's running mate, admitted to killing her family dog for misbehavior.I hated that dog, Noem wrote, adding that the 14-month-old wirehair pointer was dangerous to anyone she came in contact with and less than worthless as a hunting dog.
.................
As detailed in an article by The Guardian, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, a prominent contender for Donald Trumps vice-presidential nomination, has ignited controversy with her latest book, No Going Back: The Truth on Whats Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward. In the book, Noem shares personal stories from her life in South Dakota, including her decision to shoot her aggressive dog, Cricket, as well as a troublesome family goat.
The book describes a disturbing day during the hunting season that ended fatally for both animals. Cricket, a 14-month-old wirehair pointer known for her aggressive personality, disrupted a pheasant hunt with uncontrollable excitement, later wreaking havoc by attacking a local familys chickens. Noem narrates that the situation escalated to the point where she felt compelled to take drastic measures, leading her to shoot the dog in a gravel pit.
The narrative takes a grimmer turn as Noem recounts dealing with a family goat that had become a nuisance due to its aggressive behavior and offensive smell. After an unsuccessful first attempt, Noem, similar to her action with Cricket, took the goat to the same gravel pit to end its life, an act witnessed unexpectedly by a construction crew and her childrens school bus.
Governor Noem uses these grim stories to underscore a theme of her book: her readiness to perform difficult, messy, and ugly tasks that she deems necessary, reflecting her ethos in both her political and personal life. These stark admissions serve as illustrations of her uncompromising nature and her willingness to make tough decisions, characteristics she evidently values.

people to "put down" sickly or dangerous pets and or livestock. Not a pleasant topic but a fact.

She killed a puppy because she was lazy at training bird dogs, not because it was a bad dog.
Not every dog is for the field, but 99.9% of them are trainable or re-homeable. We have one now who was never going in the field, but I didn't kill her. She's sleeping on the couch.
You down old dogs, hurt dogs, and sick dogs humanely, not by shooting them and tossing them in a gravel pit.
Unsporting and deliberately cruel...but she wrote this to prove the cruelty is the point.
