Fact-checking implies that everything else he says is truthful. The whole idea basically assumes the person you are fact-checking is telling the truth but you found one or two things wrong, possibly very wrong.

But Donnie pretty much doesn't speak other than to lie or threaten. Such people should y be given airtime if the media cared at all about the truth.

Most criminals at trial insist they are innocent victims of the process and don't like what's going on. That's not news.

starts with quoting trump's blathering and not even quoting him. They summarize what he would say in a way that makes him sound more sane. THEN they give a little snippet of what the Prosecution is saying.

AP radio news has been like this for years. It's a two minute or so segment at the top of the hour. I wish WCPT used a different source.

He's an ex-president on trial for felony campaign finance violations related to extramarital affairs with porn actresses. It's going to get covered and TSF babbling "Gollum! Gollum!" from the courthouse lobby is not a winning position for him.

If anything, his most egregious over-coverage occurred during the previous year, when his rallies were spotlighted and their nutty attendees normalized.
