A news story that practically screams, "dope addict on a bender."

The story doesn't say anything about drugs, but this guy's actions sure do look like he flipped out while on a dope bender.

Man accused of multiple assaults, leading Fond du Lac Police on chase

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) - A 35-year-old Fond du Lac man is accused of going on an erratic assault spree and leading police on a chase Monday.

Police said it started around 12:25 p.m. when officers responded to the 600 block of East Merrill Avenue for a report of an individual who was destroying property and physically assaulted another person inside the home. The 35-year-old Fond du Lac male suspect was driven by his girlfriend to SSM Health - St. Agnes Hospital as officers were responding to the home.

Officers responded to SSM Health and said the suspect, “was exhibiting bizarre and erratic behaviors, severe agitation, and violence towards others.” At one point police said the suspect slammed his girlfriend into the side of the vehicle and then ran into the driver’s seat and sped out of the hospital parking lot.

As police chased after him, authorities said the suspect made his way to a Dairy Queen on Fond du Lac Avenue where he entered the food service area without permission and two employees received minor injuries as they attempted to stop him from accessing the storage area before pushing him out of the restaurant.

The suspect drove off again and went into the neighborhood area around the South Hills Golf & Country Club. Police found the vehicle crashed on a pedestrian/golf cart bridge on the golf course.

A homeowner in the area saw the suspect run behind their house and quickly alerted law enforcement. Police said a K-9 team and officers took the suspect into custody without incident.
