Was at the mall a while today. I saw two people with open carry

pistols. One was a man with a "Let's Go Brandon" shirt and a "III" tattoo on his arm. The other a women dressed in
black wearing a black belt with several magazines and a "Fuck your feelings" shirt. They weren't together. Security
was nowhere to be seen.

First of all open carry is illegal. It's also a good way to lose your guns and/or your life.

It's curious how these cosplaying fools actively avoid places where showing off a gun is actually dangerous.

people are probably the least likely to pose any danger to anyone. Open carry exposes one to extra scrutiny and a much higher probability of having contact with law enforcement, mainly due to people freaking out over absolutely nothing and calling the cops. I'll bet bank that these two have a spotless criminal history, and have all of their "T"'s crossed.
That fact that they are minding their own business and not spraying bullets everywhere (as some suggest they would be prone to do) tells me there is no ill intent at all.
If I were sitting in a food court eating, I'd much rather have these two behind my back that the person who is freaking out at the mere sight of a firearm.
And as a side note, I find open carry to be a poor choice simply because of the exposure. Yes, it will make you a primary target if there is a case of someone trying to hurt people. Secondly, you have to deal with people who wig out when they see a gun. It does, however, decrease your response time very dramatically. I'm the worst, I carry mine on my ankle and it would take me a long time to retrieve it in the case I ever needed it.

All open carry states. I’ve seen open carry many, many times. And never been the least concerned about it. Not sure why anyone gets so wound up about someone doing something that is perfectly legal in the vast majority of states.

I don't trust cops to use their guns appropriately. Why would I feel any safer around random armed strangers who are so obviously idiots?

One can always call security and report you saw someone with a gun and where they were in the mall then hang up and leave (before the police arrive to stop people from leaving) and let them handle it. After all, you know they have dangerous weapons and you don't know why.

If I am going to the mall to murder someone, who is the first person I take out? There were towns in the old
west where you had to turn in guns. I have had a concealed carry permit for about 13 years. In that time I carried it
just one day because I thought there could be a possible need for it. I don't live in fear to think I need a gun to

Most states are open carry states.

I don't own a gun, and even if I did, I don't think I'd carry it around with me. If there's a place that I think I'd actually need a gun, I just don't go there to begin with.

That said, I've never been scared of other people carrying their guns with them. I guess they have their reasons, and their reasons really aren't any of my business.

Up north I occasionally see it, usually around hunting season. But maybe only once each year around then. Granted, I'm up north maybe for all of 5-6 weeks per year.

Around Metro Detroit area, I very rarely see openly carried rifles, usually if I do its because one of the open carry groups is having some event nearby. Handguns, I see openly carried a couple times a month though. Some could be LE or security, but others are very obviously not. Nearly always men, but a mix of races so it's not always white males who open carry, at least here around Detroit.
