one suspects trump wants to be put in jail to become a martyr. AmIrite?

continuous misbehavior with no consequences encourages him to do whatever he wants and why not since he is allowed to get away with crap for which we would all be in jail.

is it worth it to actually find him in contempt and punish him with either fines or jail?

and whether she was implying there might be political violence in the next six months.

While Lake didn’t explicitly warn of political violence, that’s how one of her supporters took her rhetoric.

“They’re gonna do everything they can to disrupt the election, whether it’s another pandemic, whether it’s going to be inciting the civil war,” said Geenee Roe, 63, when asked about Lake’s speech afterward. The event included a raffle of an AR-15-style rifle.'

The effect remains to be seen.

His minions attacked the capitol knowing that their hero & his hatchetmen controlled the response.
They're not going to assault a secured prison. So, his martyrdom will be in name only, which is not martyrdom.
He'll just be a jailbird.

As I wrote on another thread, as much as any judge may want to toss him in jail for violation of a gag order or other contempt, I think the unspoken conundrum for the legal system is just how would one do that with an ex-Prez with Secret Service protection and so forth?

Jails have cells where they can hold certain prisoners apart from the general population and keep them safe. The only problem I see with jail is keeping him supplied with his diapers.

But jail scares him. Dirty toilet seats. Who knows who slept on that mattress. Filthy floors. Bugs.

Jail alone will not accomplish that. It will not change or subdue him. If jailed, he needs to have all communication devices removed from him.

Focus should be on silencing him. If he is not jailed, he should be in an isolation room where he can watch and hear the trial, but cannot communicate intimidation to the jury through body language. Communication devices removed in that isolation room.
