If something like that showed up in my email, I sure wouldn't click on it. If it were posted on DU by a new poster, I'd assume it was commercial spam and report it.

Coming as it does from a longtime, well-respected DU'er, I'm confident that the intention is honorable. But I'm still not clicking on it.
