(111,339 posts)I saw it work boh ways with cats on the 4tu of July. Most animals freak out at loud noises like that.
My cats spent the evening under the bed. There was no cuddling or observabl symppathy being exchanged, they just hid out until it was over. Then they'd give me dirty looks on the way to their food dishes, like I had something to do with the racket.

(7,659 posts)It sounds like the other animals surrounding this beautiful lioness are also in distress.
In the United States, we have the largest population of housing captive tigers even though tigers are not native to our country.
I don't know if there's a way where we could move them out of this dangerous environment and temporarily move them here. They manufacture big cat sedation drugs so it is possible to move them without them being stressed out.
I'm a big cat (also domestic cat) lover and supporter, so when financially feasible for me, I donate to both of these organizations. I don't care if the organizations are in red states.
Black Pine Animal Sanctuary has more than big cats that live in their forever home. It houses a wide variety of beloved animals.
