Chaya Raichik is the founder of the social media account @LibsofTikTok (LTT) who helped revive in right-wing propaganda the anti-LGBTQ+ “groomer” slur, which implies that all LGBTQ+ people are pedophiles. She spreads the anti-LGBTQ+ conspiracy theory that “groomers” have infiltrated every social institution with the intent of “sexualizing” children. Under the LTT pseudonym, Raichik originally shared content intended to humiliate and intimidate LGBTQ+ content creators. She has used the platform in an anti-LGBTQ+ disinformation campaign that mobilizes right-wing extremist groups in violent attacks against LGBTQ+ people, spaces and events, as well as against doctors, hospitals, librarians, libraries, teachers and schools.

9. At the risk of seeming sexist, I think saying "punchable face" is only for men

Of course I know the phrase is not meant literally. When you say it guy has a punchable face it means his manner of speaking is so smarmy that no one would object if you silenced him with a brief impulsive violence. It's a visceral reaction, but it's understood you wouldn't actually slug him for his ideas.

And we should always be for equal rights, right?

And besides, it's a third party conversation when you say something like that. Punchable face is what I say to you about someone else in another part of the country. Like, you wouldn't actually say to someone's face you have a punchable face. No matter what their ideas are, going up and directly telling someone that is bullying, trying to shut down free speech with a threat of violence. We don't do that.

So why am I not okay with you saying a woman has a punchable face? I guess because women being silenced with violence as a very real thing in this world, and particularly in this country's heated political confrontations. I just don't think the American culture of threatening women into obedience is something we should be blasé about.
