After the passing of RBG... I saw the interwebz littered with knuckle dragging troglodytes talking trash about her...
A really good hearted and kind woman who served her country loyally...
If partisanship can make people so... inhuman...
I'll pass.

(7,867 posts)And if he is referring to the fact that people are bringing up justified criticisms of Lieberman, I would point out that the OP is also a big fan of presenting both sides of things and encourages everyone to have a full and complete understanding of the facts.
And, yes, Liberman's kneecapping Obamacare, his promoting the dark-money group No Labels, etc. are all very much part of his legacy.

Why I don't grave dance:
I personally don't know the famous person who died
They're usually old and out of circulation at the time of their death, so my current outrage is directed at someone else...(Thomas, Thomas..Alito, Alito)

(20,577 posts)Discussing what that is for a person who died is not grave dancing. In Lieberman's case we are all living with the consequences of his legacy and that is speaking the truth.

(4,386 posts)Especially when they are pointing out, on a political website, the effects of the politics of the deceased. Nothing inhumane about that. He couldn't defend his actions alive, so death makes little difference. He was a real piece of work.

That said, I don't like grave dancing as a rule. I find it tacky and uncivilized when people on the right do it and I don't want to be identified with such behavior.

(1,730 posts)normal policy disagreements with. I may think their wrong headed and not like them, but if they don't wish me or others harm I wish them no serious ills either.
However if I had been alive when Hitler and Stalin were terrorizing their own citizens and the world, I refuse to feel guilty in admitting, I would have wished for and celebrated their demise. As I will celebrate those of any current or want to be dictators in the world, as their exit from this world would likely save the lives of countless others they victimize or plan to victimize.

(38,497 posts)It's a reasonable response to all the lauds and accolades for a guy whose biggest contribution to government was singlehandedly killing the public option part of the affordable care act that would have actually made it affordable! So, without dancing of any kind, fuck that guy.

(1,138 posts)I think that she might have had been pretty sure that McConnell would not permit a hearing on a Democratic supreme court nominee. At the time it would have seemed crazy, but in hind sight we can see that this unprecedented ploy is what he actually did. The supreme court justices are some of the most well-connected individuals in the country. I think that it is possible that she thought that McConnell could hold out for a few months, but since it looked like Hillary would win, either the Senate might be in Democratic hands or he couldn't hold out for four years.

Look, there is a universe of difference between RBG and these people. Lieberman was a prick that was trying to actually help sell out democracy. Fuck him. The only way I wouldnt piss on his grave is if I was dehydrated.
