(2,628 posts)So many thrilling things are going on. I just love hearing about them, even though I could never be so lucky to experience them myself. I'm just happy that I get to vicariously share in so many adventures of others who post on DU. It's really a thrill for someone like me to be less than "six-degrees-separation" away from all the famous people we hear about so often.

(17,056 posts)but if you're willing to contribute a big enough amount you get to go. I was able to go to a fundraiser at a mansion with Bill Clinton and Nancy Pelosi many years ago because I contributed what for me was a lot of money. I haven't been able to do that recently so I won't be going to any of these glitzy events either.
