Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert (R) to run for fourth term
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Jean Stothert announced Tuesday morning that she would run for a fourth term as Omaha’s mayor.
Former Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman introduced the mayor at her 10 a.m. news conference at the UNO campus.
Filing deadlines for the 2025 election are still a ways off, but the mayor said she keeps getting asked when she’s out in public about whether she is going to run for another term, so she thought it wasn’t too soon to announce.
The filing deadline for the 2025 mayoral election is Feb. 28, 2025. The primary will take place on April 1, 2025; the general election is set for May 13, 2025.
