it's business as usual. That's one thing we can count on. They will apply absolutely no pressure on him to do so, whereas if it was Joe refusing, well...I think we can all imagine.

He may take a debate to talk over Biden, interrupt, hog the mike, make outlandish statements, etc. to control the narrative.

He thrives by "flooding the zone with shit". He makes a huge bogus statement and embellishes it and muddies the waters. Then the media run around repeating his bullshit and keeping him in the news.

But your hypothesis has a lot of reasons to turn out to be the case.

4. I agree...but on the remote chance that there is a debate, I hope they would NOT have a studio audience.

I know that the networks would never go for this, but I would like to see debates where the candidates are not able to play off the responses/reactions of a live studio audience.

To me, it would be much more informative (and enlightening).

6. By the time debates would roll around, I think Trump's campaign managers will recognize his communication difficulties.

They’ll come up with some BS reason not to debate when in reality it will be because they know he will be on national television saying nonsense like lady, lady, lady when he can’t end a thought or something like the Post reported recently, when he said at a rally “Gang, boom. This is me. I hear bing.” In other words, total nonsense because he cannot now pull words out of his brain at times. The people around Trump know how bad it is, and they will try to keep it hidden until after election day.

Trump seeks debate with Biden in 2024 presidential race

Feb 5 (Reuters) - Former President Donald Trump, who has refused to debate any of his rivals for the Republican nomination, on Monday said he wanted to debate U.S. President Joe Biden immediately.

"I'd like to debate him now because we should debate. We should debate for the good of the country," Trump said on a radio show hosted by conservative commentator Dan Bongino.

When asked by reporters during a trip to Las Vegas on Monday about Trump calling for a debate, Biden, a Democrat, said: "If I were him, I would want to debate me too. He's got nothing to do."

I don’t think Biden should agree to debate Trump under any circumstances.
