It was just a PSA about skin cancer and was misunderstood. He's fine.

He has since apologized for his statement.
He had a basal cell carcinoma removed.
I've had one removed also.
It's a type of skin cancer that causes death in only 1 out of 1,000 occurrences.

The news comes after Simmons stirred concern over his health on Monday, when he said on social media that he was dying. He later apologized and clarified that his original post was meant to inspire how we should embrace every day that we have.

Skin cancer can be serious, certainly but with a total and timely excision his prognosis is good.

It can be disfiguring if not treated but it rarely kills.
