Let's Talk Republican Billionaires

What is the end game here? Yes, it's easy to write it off as "tax cuts" or some other over simplification that plays into simple greed but that is a wholely inaccurate assertion.

“I am pleased to support President Trump in his re-election efforts,” (John) Paulson said in a statement provided to CNN. “His policies on the economy, energy, immigration and foreign policy will be very beneficial for the country.”

This is sugary fluff for the media because there is no way a billionaire hedge fund manager actually believes that. The stock market has increased 68% since Biden took office while only increasing 20% under trump.
Trump weaved a tapestry of confusion, divisiveness and hate that made the tragic events of the pandemic exponentially worse. Put forth policies that dramatically increased the national debt and created a immigration shit show. His undermining of US government institutions has caused lasting harm that will take decades to repair.
In short there is no viable argument to be made that, even for billionaires, that Trump is their best choice for the job.
His incompetency and vengeance politics will destabilize the government and do lasting harm to the US economy.
For that reason I just don't understand the support from people that should, on paper, know better. It makes no sense. While yes, there may be some short term gains, trump as president will do real and significant harm that will cause long term depreciation of their wealth. Instability, conflict and pandering to just the wealthy does not build a stable and growing economy.
Creating geopolitical instability, especially in the EU, by pandering to Russia and threatening to withdraw from NATO, create real harm in the world's perception of the US and creates higher prices and harms the US as an employer and educator of choice for many people throughout the world.
Maybe there is something I'm not accounting for, so if someone has a better answer that doesn't just play off the trope of "taxes" I'm open ears because, at least on paper, it makes no sense for billionaires to support TFG.

They don't want an economy for everyone, they want it all. Trump will give them that. Biden won't.

They will siphon off the US Treasury, privatize social security, defang any remaining regulations that look out for the little guy, let the hedge fund mangers own all the rental property, & a few big corporations control the food chain. They see the climate chaos coming (not Trump, but the people that finance him) & they realize this is the last chance to get while the gettin's still good. The last chance to build as big a cushion as you can for you & yours before it all comes crashing down.

That's my opinion anyway.

The billionaires don't care about stability and progress.
They are addicted to money and power and want it all.
Politicians are just their puppets.

And yes of course they see the disaster of climate change coming down the road
and want to be ahead of that.

Grab all the money, power, resources they can before the shit hits the fan.
