anyone here get a resolution to a problem after bitching on yelp?

i’m curious. i have a beef w a local biz. tho i’ve done business w them before, i checked their yelp this time. mostly glowing but 2-3 citing a specific problem.
the owner was actively responding to all, and offering to work w the unhappies.
well, i had the same issue. and i’m pretty pissed about it. so i went back to look at the bad reviews, and they’re gone.

i’m guessing he reached out, and made them happy. was taking down the review a condition of a refund?
since the reviews r so glowing, i assume. maybe made them sign an nda.
i wonder how many others he managed to disappear. i plan to take him to small claims court. i thought i’d warn him, and give him 30 days to pay up. i might anyway just to see how he handles it.

anyone else have similar experiences? is this y some ppl look so squeaky clean? i’ve always taken that stuff w a grain of salt, but damn, so sketchy!

One was a lawn care company who was fertilizing and doig weed control for me, they screwed up several things (damaged a gate, spun tires out on my lawn, ran over some valuable plants) and I canceled, only they forgot to cancel billing and sent me a threatening letter about paying. I went to their Facebook page, to Yelp, and to Google reviews and left bad reviews. I got a call before the end of the day making everything right. Aferwards, I removed my bad reviews.

Also, I hav had restaurants reach out after bad reviews to try to make things right.

3. June 2020 we had to cancel my daughter's July 2020 wedding due to covid. The venue was just horrible to work with

and although we did not write a bad review we had to sign a NDA to get 50% of our deposit back. We contacted a lawyer friend and tried contacting our AG before agreeing to anything but basically we were SOL.

After we came to agreement I did see negative posts from others about the venue handling of covid on Yelp, Google and the Knot - the negative reviews were all disappeared.
