(22,069 posts)Rep. Lieu: I never gave him hell. I just told him the truth, and he thought it was hell.

(149,804 posts)He is smart, ethical, knowledgeable, savvy, honest. ALL of our Representatives and Senators should be as good as he is.
That is all.

(113,941 posts)that useless chair warmer. I have heard that he will not run again. But then, how could we tell? I was disgusted to learn that one of those running will be the despicable doug bruce. blechhhhhhh!!!
soldierant
(6,960 posts)Despicable may be too kind a word for Bruce. TABOR is such a vile concept I can't even find words for it. When I was in the military, any budgeted funds we didn't spend were forfeited - a similar concept to TABOR - and it did not motivate us to be thrifty - it motivated us to spend at the end of the year on things we could have done without. And of course it was impossible to make long-term plans of saving for larger projects. As obvious as that is, it didn't seem to occur to anyone in a position to change it - and apparently it still hasn't.

(113,941 posts)(Ivywild), but a friend in OCC just a couple of miles away has almost a foot.
dougie has done so much damage, it is almost beyond imagining. And ge was a terrible neighbor to a friend of mine years ago. And I know what you mean about the forfeit. When I worked for them, the end of the fiscal year brought so much nonsense. .including all the unnecessary flying. Made me so angry, watching our tax dollars wasted like that.
Stay safe and warm!

(6,960 posts)but I didnt look outside before we had a few hours of brights sun (I don't need to look out the window to see that.) So it may have been more, but I think not much over 2"

(113,941 posts)more. Sun is trying to peek through.

(6,960 posts)Still under 2" on the ground, but there had been major thawing - and looking at the car windsheind, it may have been 5-6 inches at the heaviest.
El Paso county has so many microclimates it's impossible to keep up with them. It's possible for the ground to be dry here and also as far north as the North Academy exit (150) amd still be so snow covered at about Platte Ave that it is impassible.

(6,960 posts)My Rep is Doug Lamborn, who is "retiring," and I'm sure they'll find someone worse. But at least my Senators are Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper.

(1,530 posts)He'd be my rep. I moved before he won election, though. When I lived there (mid-80s), David Drier held the seat. One of the worst I've ever had. B-1 Bob Dornan was the absolute worst one during an unfortunate period when I had to live in OC. He was downright abusive towards constituents who disagreed with him at all.

(17,390 posts)of the many Dem in Congress who could be a future leader of the party. I didn't even include Ted Lieu or the person represented by the name plate next to him in the video in the OP: Eric Swalwell. It's incredible how many intelligent and ethical members exist within our party while the other side has so many twisted and morally bankrupt scoundrels.

(10,090 posts)to my computer to watch the hearing. I had MSNBC on with the sound muted but did notice they cut to talk or went to commercial during 2 more democratic members asking questions, however I did not see them cut away during any republican questioning.

(584 posts)He signed the amicus brief with the Supreme Court challenging the election, then voted not to certify the Electoral College vote. Our district is so gerrymandered, we cant get rid of him. He opposes aid to Ukraine over accounting issues. Hes part of the Freedom Caucus. God help us.
