So I just read the transcript of Katie Britt's rebuttal speech.

I couldn't bring myself to listen again to lady's voice nor watch her theatrics.

As you can see she only once mentioned what she or the GOP intend to support: IVF babies.....this is the only program she could mention while the rest of the time spent explaining why no one in their right mind would continue living in America, much less bring children into the world only to suffer with the rest of us, taken care of by worrying mothers, up at 2:00 AM, who are fearful of the future. WTF?

Please keep Trump from the nuclear codes and his followers from positions of power.

They don’t even have a platform. Their message appears to be “vote for us just for the hell of it”.

This is your OP link

To post a link normally, just paste it into the reply/OP, like this:

https://rollcall.com/2024/03/08/transcript-sen-katie-britt-delivers-republican-response-to-state-of-the-union-address/

If you use the link button without embedding into text, you get this mess:

The same occurs when you use the link button to post an image:

I mimicked you by posting the image link, then using the link button to embed the destination page url onto the image:

That is something that very few posters here do (as many people viewing the image have no clue it is clickable unless you tell them), and certianly it is not done by ones who do not even use the link button correctly at a more basic, straightforward level.

If I use the Link (picture of chain links) the thing to click on shows as little "Link" before the actual URL address and if I don't, there is no word "link next to the URL. Do they both get to the article so people can see what I am talking about?

Thanks for all this help.

Roger.

Using the DU link button is not needed unless tou want to embed a link into text (or make a pic clickable as show in my other replies to another poster).

Another thing to remember is to 'URL trim'.

That means if you have a link with a '?' in it, followed by more text, then to arop the DU software from displaying it (you will see it when you preview your post) just remove the '?' and all that follows it.

That produces a clean result.

Tweets and YouTube videos and some pics are very very often in need of URL trimming.

An example:

Non URL trimmed:

?feature=shared

And trimmed: (with '?feature=shared' removed)

Non trimmed:

?s=20

Trimmed:
