Will Trump agree to debate President Biden?

Since trump refused to participate in the republican primary debates, one has to wonder if he will take the same approach in the general election.

Only similarity to my previous handle was a "9".
I had worked towards being more contributive here. That didn't work out well. Some of the "old boomer club" here can't handle the slightest snark, but turn around and cheer at the prolifically profanity laced Tiedrich post that said exactly what I did, minus the profanity.
I returned to less contributive, occasional lurker status.
That and some shitty commentary indicating a strained "tolerance" of LGBTQ but told to get back in my little corner and STFU. Looky loos but no support. Rant off.

country?

All the MSM is doing is saying President Biden is "too old". A debate would be an opportunity to demonstrate the differences between the two.

Let's bring up NATO, Ukraine, abortion, etc.

Trump has said he would be able to solve the Israeli/Palestinian crisis, Ukraine/Russia, etc. Just how is he going to do that. On a debate stage trump will have someone their to hold him accountable for his reckless statements.

It is even more important now than the first time if you believe the polls.

Bottom line, a debate will indicate the competency of the candidates.

This is not his campaign rally, and it isn't a waste of time. It would be an opportunity to expose trump for what he is, and to challenge his blathering.

If the polls are correct, the country is evenly divided.

That should not be the case with an insurrectionist, racist, sexist, and bigot, and it will be an opportunity to call him out on that.

The MSM has not done their job. They are lazy.

The GOP withdrew from the Commission on Presidential Debates in 2022, so any debate Trump would agree to would be a no rules, Wild West fiasco.

I don’t think Biden would do well in a high pressure debate with unscripted, time limited responses. In last week’s appearance on Seth Meyers, several times he stopped mid-sentence (as if he was restraining himself from swearing about Trump), but then never finished making his point about the issue Myers had asked him about.

Biden apparently had a good interview in the New Yorker a few days ago, but I haven’t yet been able to read it, and have seen zero media coverage except a tweet from the interviewer saying that Biden impressed him with his sharpness, knowledge and experience.

I think it would be better for Biden to focus on selective interviews, perhaps a few town halls, and more connections with “ordinary Americans” helped by his policies- he’s already done a few meetings with families this year, and I think he should continue. These appearances get covered by local media, which can have an important impact in swing states.

Meanwhile, his campaign, and especially Dem supporting dark money PACs, should go scorched earth on Trump’s weaknesses, while spending whatever it takes to maximize registrations and get young voters, women and POC to the polls.

Without debates, Trump will only have rallies and FOX town halls (and maybe CNN) for free airtime- meanwhile the incumbent will enjoy regular coverage, starting with the SOTU this week.

These 2 men don't like each other, there will be gaffes due to age, it will turn off some voters. I cannot see the benefit for Biden to debate Trump. Better to angle for three 2 hour interviews with a couple members of the press, or free TV time to present as each campaign wishes.

The amount of Adderall he'd need would make him slur so bad and would truly highlight his lack of mental acuity, his handlers would never allow it. Of course, I hope that becomes the dominant talk so tsf is forced to debate and loses bigly because he will be totally exposed to every person in America with a functioning brain.
