If there is a question about President Biden's acuity, I would think a simple question and answer session with the press would answer that. A half hour unscripted Q&A session with the press would be a great campaign move.

(7,887 posts)The fact that you don't know about it just goes to show you that boring news like him answering questions appropriately and expectedly doesn't make the headlines, but heaven forbid he misspeak a name, and that's what they spend all day reporting on.
It's just lazy, clickbait journalism. The media is very much complicit when it comes to the problems facing the very existence of our democracy right now.

(5,512 posts)I think a couple of things. We have to trust Biden's advisors to be forthright with him if they think there is an issue. None of us see him in everyday situations to know. Unscripted public speaking has never been Biden's strength. He's not Clinton or Obama (I would say off script Clinton was the best). Biden's strength is policy and strategy. Let him do that and give speeches emphasizing the great results of his policy.
The special prosecutor's report was a cheap shot for sure. But this issue of his age/mental state is out there and going to come up more and more. While I personally don't like the idea of a octogenarian president, I detest the idea of Republican president and shutter at the idea of another 4 years with Trump.
I would vote for a dead Democrat over a live Republican any day.
