My theory seems simpler - they desperately needed something to talk about this weekend other than the law catching up with Trump. Swift and Kelce are celebs, so they get really big news coverage (Parton's famous, but not at the top of her news worthiness). MAGAts love a conspiracy theory that says they're being oppressed, so this is what was needed on RW media to keep the morons moronic.

the GOP. Dolly Parton has been speaking out and supporting many liberal causes in recent years. RWers don't like it, but they're afraid of offending Dolly's fans by attacking a beloved country music icon and driving away their base.

The majority of Swift's fans are young women, many of whom will be old enough to vote for the first time in 2024, and will likely follow Taylor's lead. Republicans are always trying to drive down voter turnout among groups likely to support Democrats. They think have nothing to lose by attacking Taylor Swift. I think they're wrong.
