In the unlikely event she wins in NH (she's down 20+ points) she'll lose in Nevada and South Carolina.

As the anti-Trump candidate, she needed some like-Trump candidates to hopefully split his vote. She's probably going to get beat in NH and then drop out. Like DeSantis she'll be looking at 2028 at her real chance.

I think by the convention there will be some Republicans trying to figure out a way to blow things up and nominate someone else, because Trump will be an even bigger mess by then.

No WMD in Iraq, and then the election of Obama as a result (also proving to them that the nation might not be quite as racist as they thought--as they are), broke their brains. We were right, and it terrifies them to think about what ELSE we might be right about.. higher taxes on the rich?, social welfare and progressive govt?, gay marriage is fine?, you can keep going.

They're so mad at us for being right, all they want is vengeance. As they retreat into their culture war fortress, I can only hope this time we have the temerity to burn their damn castle down around them. Honest and useful conservatives I can deal with, because they create at least small, but FORWARD progress or movement. These clowns are retrograde political imbeciles, and they need to understand how DONE PUTTING UP WITH THEM, the rest of the country really is.

Maybe Donald Trump guilty, and in jail or fled the country, will help them understand.

As a master charlatan, Trump's greatest "skill" is the ability to make his followers believe that his problems are their problems. An (undefined) "system" has been so unfair to him, and therefore unfair to anyone else severely lacking in critical thinking skills who somehow relates to what the "system" means to them. Flawed logic leads them to believe that Trump will go to bat for the "little guy" when the exact opposite is the case. Tax policy is but one example. Under Trump, billionaires received a hefty permanent tax cut, while everyone else received a miniscule reduction that is set to eventually expire. The overwhelming majority of Americans are paying for those targeted permanent tax breaks. And somehow those who object to economic inequality are branded as "elitists" engaging in "class warfare". MAGA laps it all up while being led off the cliff by Dear Leader.

Watching an interview with a maggot. She said rump did so much for America.

What did he do? That should have been the next question. But sadly it wasn't. My guess is the interviewer knew how stupid this maggot was and left it go.

Just one time I would like a reporter to ask a rump supporter "give me a list of his achievements." I just bet it would be spectacular.

President Biden and his campaign manager needs to do lots of campaigning and make sure they tell the population about his accomplishments and what America stands to lose if the divisive asshole were to win in November. I know what is at stake if that shitstain were to win, democracy would be dead.

I really wonder what will happen as the primary season progresses and he keeps up the incoherent rhetoric. It’s not that there aren’t a lot of committed Trumpers, but with the majority of primaries still ahead, I wonder if his escalating incoherence and Haley’s delusional claim that this is due to age won’t give some of those primary voters an off ramp.i think the GOP establishment is hoping her argument will make headway.

I have no idea what will happen, but I am not as certain as some that he has a lock on the nomination.

about how men don’t hear women and he would make this ricochet motion and sound showing how nothing penetrated. He would add that if a football game was on it was like trying to talk to someone on life support who just flatlined.

His supporters don’t hear or care about the criticism. And they don’t hear or care about what the GOP establishment think.

But I do wonder about the establishment. Trump’s decline is so bad and as I stated in another reply below may be accelerating to the point where they have to step up and she is the only one left.

Maybe my own angst, having been close to many people with dementia.

Heck, part of me wonders if he isn’t declining so fast he will be literally babbling in a few weeks.

But will he beat the spread? If he doesn't, and Haley only loses by a few percentage points, it might start looking like the king got popped in the nose and bled a little. When you're trying to convince the mushy middle that you're invincible, that couldn't help.

Elections “should” be run.

He has said (and several other Trumps) that they believe the vote counting should stop when the favored candidate is ahead. Since he always favors himself, then that would be him. He would of course “win” in this scenario.

This theory of elections is why Trump blew a gasket when Fox projected President Biden as the winner in AZ in 2020. Someone in the WH immediately called Fox and demanded that they retract their projections. I don’t know what the threat was, but they did.

The nation was subjected to months of agony, culminating in the January 6th insurrection and continuing until now due to Trump’s inability for admitting he lost.

I personally believe that what we see in the 2024 GOP Primary is a dry run for the GE in November.

But the gop, controlled by trump, changed the rules to bind delegates to vote for the candidate their state voted for unless something like 2/3 of the party officers votes for a new rule.

So it's a pretty done deal. If he becomes incapacitated, or worse, they can replace him, but not if he objects.

He needs to win about 1,215 delegates from the primaries. There are about 2,429 total delegates. Those primaries still have to be run. Maybe there will be a campaign to defeat him there.

The delegates from each state might not be hard core Trump supporters.

The state delegates at the Republican convention will need to decide if they want a convicted criminal as their nominee.

Trump might be encouraged to withdraw when convicted. Or they might have a resolution passed that removes him from the convention ballot.
