Robert Reich nails JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon

Robert Reich
@RBReich

Let's be clear. The CEO of JPMorgan is willing to look past "how Trump said things" and support MAGA because the rich like him can get huge tax breaks. It's a cynical, corrosive partnership, and it's destroying our country.

There is more here at play.

Re: "negative talk"

I'll keep saying it again and again: Under no circumstance can Republicans/Conservatives be characterized or labeled as "the bad guys" in the media or by society at large. It destroys their entire fake world they have created in their myopic talk radio bubble over the past two and one half decades. All Dimon is saying is "stop calling conservatives the bad guys or you'll lose......" just like the hillbilly who is found by CNN's cameras warns of the coming "civil war" if they don't get their way.

7. Biden ONLY calls MAGA terrible, not conservatives or Repugs. Just MAGA. This strategy is correct.

trump and his supporters are bad. Biden has always been very respectful of Repugs. Apart from the partisan left (much like the partisan right, who call each other 'bad' all the time), I want to know who is calling conservatives or Repugs "bad". The answer is that no one is doing that. A clear distinction is made between normal ideological conservatives, "old school" Repugs, and the current leader of the MAGA movement and all of his followers. I've heard it every time Biden speaks.

Dimon is playing that trick card. If Dimon wants to say that MAGA are not bad people and that trump is often right, even if he doesn't like the way he says it, then what Reich says is on point. Dimon is sucking up to trump because he makes tons of money from trump's tax cuts for the rich. It's cynical and anti-American. In truth, Dimon is smearing Biden by suggesting that he is calling all conservatives 'bad'. He is not and he never has. Dimon has decided he profits from dancing with the devil and it's disgusting to watch him do it in public.

10. I will proudly call all Republicans "bad". .....

They have not denounced or deserted MAGA. They did nothing to deter Bush/Cheney as they ramped up, lying, for a ridiculous, bank breaking, real live war against Iraq. They have made no attempts to make the USSC an actual hall of respectable justices. Etc......

Republican's bad....currently and historically.... YES! I understand why Biden's not running on it but that does nothing to change the fact that the Republican party has never, ever, once stood its ground to protect America from the ongoing scourge and shame of unimaginable wealth inequality. One doesn't need to be a foam-frothing Marxist to know that.

12. I agree 100%! As a member of the left activist base, I know exactly who BAD is and it's all Repugs!

My post was addressing the poster above who made it sound like Biden's language was not good. Biden is careful with his language. Plus, I'll go as far as to say that "never trumpers", like Liz Cheney, are not counted among the evil ones AT THE MOMENT. To be sure, they have been that in the past (Iraq War, opposed same-sex marriage, etc). But for today, since they are proud Americans (which means they are anti-trump) in our current context, I will refrain from using the worst pejoratives on them. Like you, I remember who they are. If and when we ever return to a time when our differences are ideological, rather than pro- and anti-democracy, I reserve the right to reconsider!

They don’t realize how the poor will come after people like him with tar and feathers.
MAGAs can kiss my rosy ass.
