Father of hostage mistakenly killed by IDF: We demand to see documentation of the incident

Avi Shamriz, whose son Alon was taken hostage and mistakenly killed by Israeli soldiers in Gaza, said that his family demands to see the incident's documentation.

In an interview with Army Radio on Friday, he said the shooting of his son and the other two hostages "was not a mistake, it was an execution – literally."

Shamriz said that the signs that were hung on the building where the hostages were held, calling for help, were written by his son, a veteran of the elite Yahalom unit.

"They did everything right – took their shirts off, hung a white flag and marched in broad daylight in the middle of the street and shouted for help, but in our army they don't know how to follow the rules of engagement," he said.

"Even if it's a terrorist, why shoot him like that? He was naked, unarmed, and even if it's a terrorist – why not shoot him in the legs? This is against all the rules taught by the IDF."

He sold himself as only-I-can-keep-you-safe.
Then paid Hamas under the table to destabilize everything so he could sabotage any peace attempts.
Then sleepily thought he had controlled the opposition.

His incompetent army ignored the warnings of the women frontline observers on Oct 7. Women in the IDF who had been sidelined out of regular military activities to be observers that could be ignored.

Then indiscriminate bombing and loss of civilian life.

Now this.

Authoritarians are fundamentally incompetent. That's why they depend so much on violence and force.

I know there have been protests, but are they demanding that he stop the war? The hostages may be in more danger from the IDF than Hamas since they have value to Hamas.

Rather than using a fully-trained, professional army to do one’s fighting.

In Lebanon by the IDF. The Wikipedia entry is really good on it. They bomb the hell out of stuff for the reason you stated: the army is not properly trained like ours, the UK's, France's, etc.
