Regardless of your stance on the horrible situation in Gaza and Israel, these idiots needed to be fired. Nobody deserves to be treated like they treated this customer. Well done, Farley's East.

(40,219 posts)Their behavior was disgusting and betrayed their ignorance, especially the man in the video.
Im sure given that this is Oakland, they wont have any problem finding new jobs where their antisemitism will be appreciated. 🙁

(3,360 posts)seems a pretty weak response to cover something of so dark a nature; but at least it's being addressed and the appropriate steps were taken.

Both the owners and former employees sound like dreadful people. The video was awful - and they were proud of what they said and knew they were being recorded. But the owners sound like jerks, too.

(40,219 posts)In fact, Farleys East seems to be a very hostile environment for Jews.
Trip Advisor should post a warning.

(61,703 posts)Based on the original video, all the employees on shift that day seemed to agree with the bigoted graffiti, which they were literally trying to protect from their customer, a Jewish woman they didn't hesitate to bully and verbally abuse. The "you're misgendering them" plaint was the icing on the cake.
Just no.

(40,219 posts)Did they just make that up?
One of my takeaways from that clip was thinking how immature these now former employees are.
I can remember when I was that age. I would never speak to people like that, even if I disagreed with them or didnt like them.

(61,703 posts)It was mean, bullying. They claim she harassed them before the video began, but I don't know. Based on their protecting the hate-speech graffiti and their treatment and words toward the customer, I feel as if we're looking into the faces of genuine hatred toward a Jewish person.
Accusing her of "misgendering" a person when there was zero evidence that she did so intentionally was another form of bullying.
