What exactly is the Republican border policy demand that is holding up Ukraine aid?

I couldn't tell from this article which seems to blame Dems for being unreasonable without giving any specifics.

If I had to guess, it would be Repubs want to completely block new asylum seekers, which is unconstitutional I think.

It's clear, though not in this piece, that Dems are very willing to increase overall border funding.

seriously, if the GQP suggest a solution, it probably sucks.

At this point in time, the Democrats don't like it.

it has everything to do with support for Putin who funnels money to them.

Every Congressional Magat is an insurrectionist, they openly aid and abet the ongoing insurrection.

Letting Tommy Tooberville do what he did for so long is unfuckingbelievable.

MAIN job of the congress.. Legislating is second. If putin will relieve this "burden" they will do him
"favors"...
Follow the money..

I'm curious if the Dems can ok the border deal and just slow walk it till they take back the house.
Get the damn money to Ukraine is paramount...

It's really all the GOPigs have to rile up voters. When Trump said he'd build a wall back in '16, Hillary should've said she'd build a better wall since Trump couldn't even build a successful casino.

When have they ever offered a comprehensive plan on immigration and border control? A crappy wall don't count as policy.

Changing the asylum system for migrants is a top priority for Republicans. They want to make it more difficult for asylum-seekers to prove in initial interviews that they have a credible fear of political, religious or racial persecution in their home country before advancing toward asylum in the United States.

(Snip)

Negotiators have looked at steps that could be taken to reinforce existing infrastructure at the border, including hiring and boosting pay for border patrol officers and improving technology. One proposal advanced by a bipartisan group of senators would call for hiring of more border patrol agents, raising their pay and ensuring they receive overtime.

Biden has shown a willingness to accept tougher enforcement measures, recently resuming deportation of migrants to Venezuela and waiving federal laws to allow for the construction of border wall that began under then-President Donald Trump. The White House also wants to install new imaging technology at ports of entry that would allow authorities to quickly scan vehicles for illegal imports, including fentanyl.

Republicans say that is not enough. They want more robust improvements, including more expansive construction of a border wall.

Taking responsibility is not a strong trait with republicans. They prefer to sit on their hemorrhoidal asses and point their fingers and blame Joe Biden.

Oh and a border fence, at which they can kneel to their orange god, apparently.
