I took the nominees from the list on SportsGeek.com, which lists the current odds of who'll win. I left off one name on their list - Lionel Messi - because I think his chances are practically nil, even though the odds for some names are longer than his. Zelenskyy won last year.
TIME will reveal its choice on Dec. 10

(15,700 posts)Actually, it should be either Biden or Fascism/Authoritarianism, although I think Netanyahu could be in the running as well.

(2,757 posts)There's a lot of wishful thinking going on in all of those Biden votes. It would be nice, but it's not going to happen.

(11,531 posts)but because she is starting a movement getting out the vote and mobilizing her fans to vote. This has been done before but she has more fans and is drven to help women.

(15,519 posts)It's NOT "Who do you want TIME's Person of the Year for 2023" to be, it's "Who do you think will be TIME's Person of the Year for 2023."
As much as we all want Biden to win it, he won't this year. That will be next year, when he beats Trump again.

(4,741 posts)Because this is something that never interested me, especially not from a magazine that has often made demonstrably awful people (like, oh, Hitler) its person of the year.
It's a stupid and meaningless attempt at relevance.
