What is everyone's estimate for length of government shut down?

I'll vote but won't put my thoughts here.

What do you think will happen? How will it end if it does indeed happen there is a no compromise by Saturday?

The shutdown will end before Lauren Boebert does something (anything) classy.

Affect the general public. It will only impact govt workers, and nobody cares about them.

As soon as people realize how badly it will start hurting them, and who is causing it, it won't seem like such a good idea anymore.

For the brawl in the gang of punks' cloakroom, kevvy will survive long enough to face an ouster attempt that may actually fail. Dems may have to save him but it would be the biggest slap to the House gang of pedophiles if that happened.

Not that they won't keep trying to screw everything up but it will stunt their momentum.

and makes a deal with Dems to shelve impeachment inquiry in return for their votes on a long term spending bill agreed to before and votes to stop a motion to vacate in its tracks

A coalition of moderates from both parties electing a moderate speaker would do a lot to end the dysfunction in the house. It won’t happen, but Kevin pulling the impeachment stunt should receive no help from our party.

If you're waiting for Marjorie Taylor Greene or Matt Gaetz to fold to pressure from their electorate, you're going to be waiting for a while. They've already made it clear they have no shame, no conscience, no public spiritedness, no ability to compromise and they don't give a shit what the majority of Americans want.

This is a Congress that needed 14 ballots and four days to agree on Kevin McCarthy as the Speaker. How quickly are they going to be able to turn around a consensus view on this?

It will take calls from scared constituents and businesses that rely on government spending to jerk their leash enough for them to decide to pass a clean bill.
The 12th and 15th of October paydays will start the calls.
