a Republican Shutdown.

Remember - when we vote in Nov 2024 - the ballots will identify the candidates by Democrats that will be running against Republicans not MAGA's. The term MAGA's will not be on the ballot.

It would only take a handful to join Democrats for a clean continuing resolution that could pass the Senate.

I heard a report recently that traced the history of the government shutdowns. ALL of them brought to you by Republicans.

So what would they rather have? Anarchy?

CNN pointed out the main risk for the Republicans, 401(k) account values dropping. If there is a shutdown, the MAGA risk is that it causes retirees to be forced to sell some of their mutual funds at shutdown-depressed prices to pay for groceries. That's why I don't think there will be a shutdown, or it won't last long.

If you are ignorant you can believe you are informed because you don't know what you don't know. T-rump believes he is smart because people carrying favor eith his rich dad told him so for decades. Being basically lazy he stayed ignorant.
Stupid people feel some happiness when others they don't like are getting hurt even if it hurts them. Especially if they don't understand how they are getting hurt. Life is complicated and they are ignorant.
The more I have learned in my life, the more I know that I don 't know.

I used to conjecture that MAGAts didn’t want Democrats to get credit for improving the country (or just preserving the status quo).

I now see they don’t want anybody for any reason to take this country forward.

The Republican Party has been destroyed by Reagan, Gingrich, Bush, and Trump.

And the more lacerating those talking points are, the better for us Democrats. You want to stick with the party that wants to throw you to the wolves? Or do you have a legitimate need for a little help?

Fuck them. That’s work is just as valuable aimed at ourselves. It’s reminders, encouragements, ideas that might spark MORE ideas or strategies or ways around whatever the obstacle is. It’s how we figure out ways to outsmart them. It’s challenges that make us think, and think AROUND whatever the problem is. And get more creative about the problem AND the problem-SOLVING.

Something tried that doesn’t work? Okay then! It’s as useful and instructive to know what DOESN’T work as knowing what does. It can force your thinking and strategizing into new directions, or maybe a twist on what didn’t work that can change the dynamic. ANY of that stuff can be helpful!

And ALWAYS think of it NOT as a defeat or a mistake, but a new challenge.

And oddly enough, sometimes it’s a good thing to just sleep in it. Sometimes stepping away and circling back around with fresh eyes or a little rest can spark a new idea or approach or inspiration. A new “what if…” or “why not…”
