(86,016 posts)...I garden and follow news because it's important to me.
I can clock a lot of news reading and watching time during the day. It's not the least bit sad. I happen to be very well informed. Like I said, it's important to me.
I always wonder, though, how folks who profess to severely limit their news sources can be so certain sometimes in their opinion of complicated and ongoing events.

(22,677 posts)I'd like to see all of it washed away. They could name it Dumpster Fire News. Just give me the news about politics and policies that are making a positive difference in people's lives or the GOP's latest ruin America invention.

(43,227 posts)I just find it amusing how much time and effort goes into back and forth debates about MSNBC personalities that a lot of us don't even have the time to watch.

(65,382 posts)...I just don't watch much cable news. Why get aggravated? There are other things to watch & do.
I'm not watching either, but it's not from lack of time.
I just don't find belaboring a limited set of topics, all day, compelling TV.
Simple solution: I don't watch!
ExWhoDoesntCare
(4,741 posts)I'm not a telly-watcher, with anything. I simply have other interests, like reading, creative writing and checking the news online. Or watching music videos on Youtube. Or enduring my mum on the phone. Or studying the local grocer ads and coupons, then coming up with my menus and grocery lists. Or doing my nails/finding new nail polishes. Or shopping online for stuff I need or want. Or simply spending quality time with my husband and cat.
Maybe that sounds boring to other people, but that's living the good life to me.

But I am not unsympathetic to your idea for a more precisely focused forum.
