And asked by another the ridiculous question if I had fallen in the last year (ridiculous, since I've fallen twice within the last two weeks - which he should know generally - if not specifically).

I guess the former is technically correct, although I am not at any significant risk for fall injuries. After a decade of vertigo, and it's aftermath, I fall regularly (as the second doctor knows) - and I know how to fall without doing serious injury to myself.

On the other hand, my 91 year old mother can't remember the last time she fell.

But falling among the elderly is not a joking matter, nor is it something to be used as an insult.
