Trump wants to impress upon an institutionalist that he is in full blown campaign mode with his rallies and town halls and any indictment against will be looked upon as being a partisan witch hunt.

when CNN does what they did, it isn't really a "newschannel" any longer
It is a disseminator of false propaganda.

But, mostly, CNN thinks it will help them in their bid to become the next Fox"News." What better way to attract their audience, especially now that Fox is starting to desert Dear Leader.

11. To Make the Election Seem Close

The town hall was nothing more than an attempt to make the 2024 election seem close. It is the same thing with this poll that was recently put out that claims Donald Trump and Ron Desantis are leading President Biden while President Biden's poll numbers are seeming to decline. I think most people know Trump has little chance of beating President Biden in 2024. Trump would have to overcome a 7 million votes deficit. Please explain to me how Donald Trump is going to flip 7 million votes?

The point of this town hall was to make it seem like Trump has a large amount of support and that the 2024 election is a tossup. As far as I know, it was not well known that CNN filled the town hall with Trump supporters. How many people watching that town hall mistakenly believed the audience was made up of unbiased people and all those unbiased people liked Trump? How many people now think this could be a close election?

What the reaction would be and will determine whether CNN continues to trend right leaning or else returns to more centrist or left leaning.

They knew perfectly well what they were doing.
