The right-wing Heritage Foundation filed a suit this Monday against the Department of Homeland Security, arguing that Harry's immigration records be released. It claims he should not be allowed the protections of privacy laws because of the immense public interest in his current status.
The suit comes just over a month after the group made a Freedom of Information Act request for information on how Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were admitted into the US.
According to the group, Harry's admissions of drug use in his memoir make him inadmissible to the U.S.

(82,383 posts)She could file for him to get a green card, and likely should have by now, since he is living/working in the US.
If they didn't find him inadmissible then, it's too late.
Also mere drug use would not be enough.

(51,308 posts)If I go to a foreign country, and then I brag about using drugs, I would understand that I was then in trouble for doing so.
Sadly, tfg is a citizen.
Never mind that Adderall is a prescription drug.
Shrooms, coke, acid, weed...none of that is legal. Cannabis only legal in some states. All illegal federally.
Only a supremely privileged person would brag about using drugs in a foreign country.

(18,672 posts)I suspect I already know. A longtime friend who lives in another state has become completely obsessed with them, or rather, Meghan Markle but she hates Prince Harry, too. She goes on rants about her all the time until I tell her to stop. Now I completely change the subject when she mentions Markle's name. Unfortunately a lot of my generation seemed to have drunk the Kool-Aid. She's never voted and is allegedly non-political, but she displays all the tendencies Trumpers do - bigotry, hating on Millennials and Z'ers and putting down immigrants of color and hating Meghan Markle for no good reason aside from she reads right wing gossip rags.

Not my circus, not my monkeys. But this person was incensed that I had the nerve to say that the Windsors were a toxic family on Famous Author's page.

(5,025 posts)"Equality" is only ok up to a point. Highest position in the US or marrying royalty are taking "equality" too far. For all their lip service (those who aren't openly racist) to equality, at their core the still believe that white people should be at the top and Obama and Markle have risen beyond their place. Harry, of course, is a traitor to his race by elevating Markle beyond her place. She should be his mistress, not his wife!

(32,095 posts)She was FUCKING BORN HERE, which makes her A US CITIZEN. She can come and go as she pleases. As far as Harry goes, he's married to said US citizen. The last time I heard, that pretty much allows him to be here, like, you know, Slovenian-born Malaria Trump, who married an American. So, fuck off Heritage Foundation.

(1,792 posts)...presumably decided to suck up to Trumpism and is now going overtly fash. It's hard to believe this is the same Heritage Foundation that wrote so much of the policy of the "Reagan Revolution". Sure, their ideas sucked and didn't work in the real world, but back in the '80s, they would never have stooped this low. Now they're on YouTube right along with the other fash "think" tanks like PragerU and Claremont Institute, putting out execrable culture-war garbage about "wokeness" and "restoring 'American Greatness' ".
I don't know what prompted the Heritage Foundation to waste money on a frivolous lawsuit over Prince Harry's immigration status (I'm pretty sure that the House of Windsor can fill out government forms competently), but I do know that Harry and Meghan are on the receiving end of a lot of hate on alt-right cesspools like Reddit and 4Chan. You can probably guess why that is.
Apparently, the Heritage Foundation wants a piece of that alt-right basement-dwelling incel action.

(1,792 posts)I know that there are still some reporters who know how to do their jobs when it comes to investigative journalism. It would be great to read in the papers about what happened at Heritage, because there has been a really dramatic shift toward Trumpism as well as QAnon and alt-right ideology.
