For the uninitiated, uncool, superwhite kids in the back of the study hall, “woke” comes from African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) and means “alert to racial prejudice and discrimination”.

Mediocre White men just can’t tolerate the notion that our nation was anything except a pristine Whites-Only haven where the land was rightfully theirs no matter how many Brown people were there first.

“Florida is where woke goes to die,” DeSantis cringed when he was sworn in for a second term earlier this year (you know, when he wouldn’t answer whether or not he was going to run in 2024 and then introduced a bill allowing Governors to run for President before their term is over, weird!)

Tiny D isn’t going to get far with this, according to a new Ipsos/USA Today poll showing that 56% of Americans consider “woke” a positive term, meaning “to be informed, educated on, and aware of social injustices.”

Go back to bed, DeathSantis, nobody who’s actually “woke” is going to follow you to their own deaths.
