It would be great if MSNBC would tune out this sensationalist Murdaugh 💩 and cover some real news. (Original Post) JohnQFunk Feb 2023 OP

Every layer peeled back in this case shows the insidiousness of good ol' boy networks and the systemic corruption that allows prominent families to wield power over, intimidate, set up and even murder "ordinary" people for their financial gain or to protect their reputations.

Trials like this hold up a necessary mirror to the machinations of a vindictive and psychopathic upper class.

The documentary about the Murdaughs and that section of SC called the low country is so revealing. I watched it twice. these people believed they owned everything and for a long time they really did. The culture is fascinating and so foreign to a girl growing up in suburban LA.

even so I think he may very well be acquitted (i do think he's guilty) or get a hung jury.

One could spend a good chunk of the day reading the articles in LBN and then searching for other sources for more information

This case is a microcosm of our society’s larger problem and needs the glare of national media attention.

I think this a good reminder of how local politics really works in rural red America. The MSM narrative has always been that all the corruption is associated with Big City political machines like New York and Chicago.
