The Foreign Ministry served a notice to the U.S. Ambassador to Moscow Lynne Tracy, accusing Washington of supplying weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as sharing information on Russias military and civilian infrastructure with Kyiv.
In this regard, the ambassador has been informed of the counter-productivity of the current aggressive U.S. course, a Foreign Ministry statement said.
The ministry also demanded the U.S. withdraw "soldiers and equipment" from Ukraine a reference to Western military assistance to the country.

Yeah, good luck with that.
Just what, if anything, will Russia do when Pres. Biden tells them it's not happening and to shut the fuck up.

(12,619 posts)of what would happen if they had tried anything against Pres. Biden, or any US president for that matter, Russia's armed forces would cease to exist and there would be world wide outrage, even China would turn against Russia and probably sit out any military action taken against Russia.

(9,514 posts)I don't see Putler using nukes. And hopefully, if there was a revolt from within Russia, the generals would take care of him if he wanted to go nuclear.

(3,943 posts)Ive been watching YouTube channel Infographics. Its a great channel and theyve had a lot of videos on Ukraine and the reason Russia is having so many problems. Honestly I find it very believable. Old Cold War equipment, unsupported conscripts, unavailability of parts, corruption, even million dollar mobile systems running out of gas and being abandoned.
Russia is basically a paper tiger. Theyre no longer the feared military monster they used to be. Except for nuclear weapons theyre nothing.

(12,464 posts)Lets hope China is smart enough to stay out of it. They have a lot to lose if they get involved.

(3,943 posts)China is the real danger. I think theyll stay out of it. While America depends on China for a lot their whole economy depends on American consumption. China has a lot more to gain siding with the West than Russia.

They dream of being a superpower, but are beginning to see it is not as easy as they thought.

(12,619 posts)IMO, if Putin had tried anything hostile aimed at Pres. Biden, even China would have withdrawn their support for Putin and would have stayed on the sidelines while the US annihilated the Russian military.

(49,045 posts)It seriously plans on becoming a 21st century superpower and allied with Putin who has the same goal.
China would control the east, Putin the west.
They both did quite well destabilizing western democracies. Or so they thought.
But the Chinese economy is tanking and Putin is a Cluster F.
He cannot control the one country he invaded, much less the entire west.
And his invasion strengthened the western allies and NATO.
It is looking like Russia may be a pain in the ass Chinese colony like North Korea.
China is also finding that managing a major economy, integrating capitalism with autocracy, was not as easy as they thought.
And their non existent research lab standards and lax food quality inspection resulted in a global pandemic
which seriously hurt their economy.
Xi is so proud of his dictatorship and truly believes he is able to handle any crises better than a messy democratic process. But what we saw with the Covid situation he laser focused himself into the ground by shutting down China for three years. To the point the Chinese people started to do mass protests which is rare. So a big loss of face for Xi.
China had planned to invade Taiwan after Putin invaded Ukraine. But that is on hold for now.
Not going to be a cake walk like they thought. And financial sanctions worry them a great deal.
I hope Xi is having some sleepless nights.

(9,514 posts)They might want to give some of their new toys to Russia to see how it stands up to the equipment we are giving Ukraine.
Irish_Dem
(49,045 posts)This might be their chance to get that experience.
Yes send in equipment to field test it.
They might send in soldiers, I am not sure what they are going to do.
Putin is claiming US soldiers are present in Ukraine isn't he?
Maybe this is a way to justify Chinese soldiers.?

(95,285 posts)Russia has only held most of Trans-Baikal Siberia since the mid-19th century, and that by virtue of coerced treaty signed by a long defunct dynasty many Chinese regard still as usurpers. Taken with the great disparity in economic weight and population between the two nations, this is a poor background for an alliance. Fertile soil for producing a dependent protectorate, though.

(12,619 posts)Back in the '90's, shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union, I was stationed in Germany and we were tasked with joint training exercises with their "combat engineers", it was a fucking shit show from day 1, the Russian unit we were supposed to be training with would usually not show up, when they did actually show up, they were either drunk, high or hungover, their equipment, what they didn't sell for booze of drugs, was in piss poor shape, their NCO's were very brutal towards their charges and their officers didn't give a fuck as long as it didn't reflect poorly on them.
I've known since then that Russia's military was a joke and 30 years later, I was proven right.

(3,943 posts)Hello Marine! I remember the runs from Little Creek to Lejune to pick you guys up! In the mid 80s being on a ship transiting to Istanbul on a Med Cruise (LST Corpsman here). A Soviet destroyer was shadowing us. Scary. Reagan was President. It was a different time. Putin has dreams of restoring the old Soviet Union. Unfortunately for him the greed and corruption of unrestrained capitalism took over in Russia. Theyre toast.
