This has been an example of democracy?

Dear GOP friends:
The vote by the starving survivors in a lifeboat of who will be eaten is also an example of democracy, but it is neither a process to be proud of, nor an appealing sight to observe.

The main weakness of democracy is that it depends on people acting in good faith. When too many of them don't, it devolves into something else.

the problem with the constant drumbeat of "government broken" (of both the real and imagined kind) - is that it positively INVITES (with groundswell public support) the arrival of autocracy.

I am so proud of the Dems. Over the past few days, they have shown we are the party of unity, dignity and sanity.
