Chinese troops will travel to Russia to take part in joint military exercises led by Russia

Last month, Moscow announced plans to hold “Vostok” [East] exercises from 30 August to 5 September, saying that some foreign forces would also participate.

China said the exercises would include forces from India, Belarus, Mongolia and Tajikistan.

The exercises will be the first conducted by Russia since 2018, when China took part for the first time.

The ministry said the exercises were “part of an ongoing bilateral annual cooperation agreement with Russia” and “unrelated to the current international and regional situation”.

Although, I shouldn’t be surprised given Modi’s populist and anti-democratic tendencies.

There’s a great deal of anti western sentiment among younger Indians which can be seen on social media. Also their government partnered with Russia to develop a 5th Gen fighter to match the F22, though India later pulled out of the agreement. They’re not our friend. They’re not our enemy yet either.

I would think that the losses in Ukraine would leave their forces depleted

What "free" trade and globalization has brought us

Over 80% of Walmart products are from China. We gave them the money to have war games with Putin. Thanks corporate America and the Waltons.

They have enough on their plates without WWIII and they know it. This is more bluster and distraction just like they did with Taiwan.

What they need to focus on is their real estate disaster and their citizens boycotting their mortgages due to developers not doing their jobs. Their populace is beginning to get unusually sassy.

as the Russian troops?
I sure hope so, the level of training the Russian troops, to say the least, is sadly lacking as compared to Western troop training.
