(2,449 posts)So Trump'll say "I was calling about Kanye's last album" or whatever. Hopefully no prosecution/jury/sentient being would believe that.

(16,575 posts)He was Garland's constitutional law professor in law school, and he told Lawrence O'Donnell tonight that he fully expects Garland to go after this. I sure hope he's right!

This is delicious.
Tick-toc. Now his minions are tossing Meadows under the bus. At least I know they're stressing and under pressure. That gives me joy.

(7 posts)He just notified his lawyer there had been a call. If they didn't talk, I have to think this will be pretty easily dispatched by Trump lawyers. I don't think this is anything on which to hang an indictment, unless something else drops.
ShazzieB
(16,575 posts)Surely the staffer's lawyer would have made sure it was preserved.
Even without a recording, phone records can be used to show that the call occurred. A call from Trump to a lower level ex-staffer (who he would not have any non-suspicious reason to contact) is going to look really bad, according to what I saw on TV tonight.

(10,885 posts)is something that moron tRump has done to himself. No one else is to blame. HE made the call; HE sealed his fate. He put himself out on the limb, reaching behind with saw in hand. Boom.

(2,766 posts)who was interviewed by Stephanie Ruhle on MSNBC this evening, that apparently the support staff person was someone in position to corroborate some of Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony.
Not someone who in a million years (my interpretation) would be called by Trump.
My guess is it could have been a server or wait staff.
Bennie Thompson was interviewed about whether we could expect to hear from this individual. He doubts it because the committee doesn't want to put him or her in a more uncomfortable position.
