comes back with only background checks and red flag laws I sincerely hope the Democratic party members on or not on the committee do not accept it as better than nothing. This is the time to ban all assault weapons period. The sane world is with us, take advantage of that while we can.

(7,037 posts)the Democratic party will accept. It's been a week and already the responses are "no repukes will support it or start with background checks and red flag laws and go from there." I can only shake my head.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
