Great our 17-18 year old sons are worried about Nuke war

Boys asked what are we going to do dad if it happens
I said calm down fellas dad had training in infantry especially West Germany how to survive in NBC nuke bio or chem warfare battle field.

Boys? What does that mean dad.

I replied I’m calling ups if it happens and taking a personal day.

Fucking Putin saber rattling.

What all this horrible news is doing to our young people’s mental health. Even those of us not so young.

Everyone sort of laughs. But I'm not really joking. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Putin used nuclear weapons out of frustration/desperation.

I prefer to think through worst case scenarios so I'm not completely shocked when/if they happen.

I started to be worried about nuclear war when I was around 7 yes old back in 1960 living in NYC.

as did others in the family during the '60s

we built a bomb shelter in the basement of my brother's wood frame house, north of atlanta

that's one BBQ I'm glad I missed

duck and cover drills in grade school. Who really knows how close we are to having a nuclear war, but I been feeling uneasy since the beginning of the Ukraine war.
