I would get off the Rapid at the Terminal Tower and walk over.

It was great in bad weather, as I could walk in one end of the building, and go out the other and be one city block closer to where I wanted to be, helpng to keep the wind and snow blowing off Lake Erie from freezing my ass off.

You could get two hot dogs with chili and a Coke for $0.79.

Boy am I old.

It used to be edgy down there at night and it was AWESOME. Respectable's, O'Shea's and the Roxy.
Oh, and the Arts Bar. And eventually Lost Weekends.
Wasn't there also one in the Palm Beach Mall at one time?

They bought the local five and dime store. It was a big deal when it happened. I remember going in there and wishing for some of the things they sold, but more often than not, we could not afford them.

"I'm not giving you a Pepsi free, if you want a Pepsi you can pay for it, like everybody else."

"Okay, give me a Tab."

"Tab? How can I give you a tab if you have't ordered anything?"

"McFly!!!"

These are products that are "gone but not forgotten." Of Tab, it says "Tab, which hit shelves in 1963, never regained its popularity. Nevertheless, it is still available in the United States if your grocer is inclined to carry it"

Of Diner's Club "Those feeling nostalgic for their first charge card can take some solace in the fact that Diners Club, though rarely seen, still exists."

Of Chiclets: "Chiclets are no longer easy to find in the United States."

I am a very nostalgic person, and often long for, or remember fondly, brands or products that are still around. Many of these in the article, however are not really "gone."

Turns out the Marathon Bar is a US-made copy of the British Curly Wurly bar, which they still make and the Old Time Candy guy imports. Not cheap. Still good.
