...he's throwing a hissy fit at TWITTER for flagging his comments.
That's right. There's a Republican President who is holding America's NATIONAL DEFENSE HOSTAGE until Congress punishes fucking TWITTER for hurting his little FEEWINGS!
I'll tell you what, Republicans. Don't ever claim to be the party of national security again! Just don't even BOTHER with that bullshit again.
Oh yeah...and unless 'family values' now includes getting your ass spanked by a porno movie star with a FORBES magazine, while your third wife is at home nursing your kid, you can just knock THAT bullshit off, too!
The Republican Party, in the age of Trump, has finally revealed itself to have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEOLOGY. Free trade...blah blah blah...family values...blah blah blah...fiscal responsibility...yadda yadda... FUCK OFF! You HAVE NO IDEOLOGY, NO MORALITY, and NO PRINCIPLES. You don't even believe in DEMOCRACY anymore. You liked it when democracy won elections for you. Then you liked the Electoral College better, when you started losing on numbers. And now that you're losing on BOTH numbers AND the Electoral College, you just want the Supreme Court, or a hand full of State legislators to just THROW OUT election results, altogether. Just support ANY convoluted formula of anti-democratic machinations that Mark Levin, or Greg Jarrett can claim is 'constitutional,' as long as it lets YOUR 'side' win.
You don't believe in ANYTHING anymore. You're strictly a TRIBAL PARTY, like Saddam Hussein's 'dead enders' in Tikrit. You support the Republican Party because it's the party of white rural America, and THAT'S IT.

(21,116 posts)President Trump on Tuesday night threatened to veto the annual defense appropriations bill unless Congress abolishes a law that protects technology companies from liability over most content published by their users.
In a tweet, he called Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act a serious threat to our National Security & Election Integrity.
Therefore, if the very dangerous & unfair Section 230 is not completely terminated as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), I will be forced to unequivocally VETO the Bill when sent to the very beautiful Resolute desk. Take back America NOW. Thank you! Trump wrote on Twitter one of the platforms shielded from liability.

(11,375 posts)There is no republican party. trump killed it dead. All "republican values" have been thrown out the window. There is only trump and the trump party now, and the only purpose of the trump party is to protect trump from being held accountable for his words and deeds. When trump is gone, the trump party is gone.

(3,408 posts)buffoon is like a little kid and he likes to boast about his criminal acts.
If you go through the history of the republican party, they have always been corrupt, Theodore Roosevelt was an exception, and I always wonder why republicans adore Reagan, and not Roosevelt, one would think that you would try to imitate the one who was honest, patriotic to a fault, and a true leader, but no, they want to cling on the Reagan persona as if he was worth anything, he was not even a good actor.
Republicans know their voters are idiots and believe their rhetoric without question, their voters do not look at their actions, only what and how it is told to them, and lets face it, many of them are a one issue voter, abortion, anything else doesn't matter to them, even if they don't understand the real issue with abortion.
So, NO...the republican corrupt mind has always existed, this is not new, the only reason many people have thought otherwise, and still do, is because the only thing republicans are good at is propaganda, and lying.
Look at the history, no war republicans have been engaged in, which is most of them, has never been for a good cause, it is always for money, and they never seem to win, long wars, huge cost, no win, its almost as if their goal is to perpetuate wars for the benefit of the military industrial complex and all those associated with it.

(2,042 posts)The GOP God is money. The GOP ideology is money.
I think with Republican voters, though, it's a bit more complicated. They do have values. They value individual freedom, hard work, and personal responsibility. At least, I know this to be true of a pair of conservative friends who are independents, but usually vote Republican.
However, the decades-long brainwashing campaign by the GOP, Fox News, and rightwing media have succeeded in fooling Republican voters into believing that the Republican Party embraces the same values they do. I hope to God they wake up one day and discover they have been duped.

(45,806 posts)President Trump is threatening to veto a critical defense spending bill unless Congress agrees to repeal a liability shield for social media companies.
The president tweeted late Tuesday that Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act is "a serious threat to our National Security & Election Integrity."
Section 230 provides legal protection for technology companies over content from third parties and users. Trump referred to the provision as a "liability shielding gift" to "Big Tech."
If he doesn't get his way, Trump is threatening to nix this year's National Defense Authorization Act a crucial piece of annual legislation that covers authorization for pay raises and other spending needs for the nation's military.
