California Drop Boxes.

I just had this horrible idea why the GOP installed illegal drop boxes in California, I hope someone can convince me otherwise.
I believe that even though all of the ballots won't be counted on election night, I believe that Joe Biden will still have enough electoral votes to make it obvious that he is the winner, unless California's electoral votes are not included. I can envision California ballots, from those illegal drop boxes may just turn up in dumpsters. Trump can declare the California election is rigged. I am sure he will also challenge elections in other states that have a lot of electoral votes. Without California's electoral votes it will give Trump's lawyers time to challenge the election and send it to the Supreme Court that will then declare Trump to be king.

Please, someone with some legal expertise, convince me why that scenario can't happen?

I see no other logical reason why they installed those drop boxes. They want to get their hands on a lot of ballots and use them as Reichstag fires.

Sure they're crooks but don't be surprised if they didn't think this out so well.

... a plot to invalidate the election some way some how. Hard to predict their specific angle. As it becomes more and more obvious that their goose is cooked,... expect these Fascists to pull all the plugs and stops to gum up this election and have the courts somehow deem the election invalid.

TrDump knows if he loses this election his ass next lands in jail. He will attempt to move and reconfigure the planets of this galaxy to keep his ass out of prison.

official county drop boxes. Don't think it will be hard to figure out it's a GOPer scam.

trump is long past being able to declare something like that.

Someone needs to monitor some of those boxes and make videos of people dropping their ballots showing the person's car and license plates. This can be used as evidence linking the GOP drop boxes to the ballots dumped. Not 100% proof but probably good enough for the courts to make a decision.

republican votes by making it easier for them to cast their ballots. That said, I wouldn't put anything past them. They believe in winning at any cost and rules be damned.

of trump loving churches and gun shops to harvest ballots. If they end up dumping the ballots it’s all on them.

Trump can't win California, but they still have down ballot candidates that can win in republican areas. They are trying to hold on to what power they can.

that would be different this year?

If this were the angle, it would be effective in a swing state.

19. CA always takes its sweet time counting votes

Ballots arriving legally after election day, provisional ballots, damaged ballots are counted last. There's a 30 day counting period built into the system. For most races, the results can be predicted a day or two after the polls close, but the Secretary of State will not certify final numbers until all counties report their final totals.

My favorite election website is the California SoS's uncounted ballots tally: it's interesting to see the various counties whittle down their totals.

Not aimed at the presidential election which they have no chance of in California. Rather house races.
They want to win back those they lost in 18 and keep those they have.

California’s vote will not be disallowed. Or even challenged.

There are going to be Democratic ballots in those boxes also, are they going to harvest ballots for Democrats? Who is to say there aren't more Democratic ballots than Republican in those boxes?

Does California have ballot tracking like we do in Pa.? I mailed my ballot in and I can track my ballot to see if the County election office got my ballot.

The news here has shown all the boxes in traditionally red districts where the house races are tight (Orange County, parts of LA, Fresno etc.).

It’s not about Biden who is polling over 60% in CA. Biden is +30.1 points in the polls.

15. CA's been doing mass mail-in elections for some time
Sat Oct 17, 2020, 02:50 PM
Oct 2020

Since the early 2000s, any voter could sign up for permanent vote-by-mail, and before that any voter could request a mail-in ballot for any specific election. Before 2020, more than half the state's voters voted by mail - and that's a lot of people. Several counties switched to all-mail voting over the past decade. This isn't a new thing for us.

Yes, we have tracking, and have had it for many elections. The new thing this year is that you can sign up with the state to get tracking notifications as well as checking your county's website, which as been around for at least 10 years.

The only way someone can tell what's in the ballot envelopes is to open them up, which would then show signs of tampering. Given the counties where these bogus boxes are showing up, I think it's more an effort to keep what few Republican congressional seats they still have by harvesting likely Republican ballots.

12. OK, if the drop boxes say GOP on them,

then I can understand the reasoning for ballot harvesting. I still don't understand if those boxes are on sidewalks, on city property, why can't the city simply remove them? Get someone from the election office to take possession of the ballots.

16. Because they're on private property

At gun stores and churches.

California counties publish the locations of all drop boxes. In the counties I've checked, the official ones are all on public property - city halls, civic centers, libraries. That's one way of identifying a legitimate drop box.

It takes 5 minutes to set up and you can either get a text, email or voicemail telling you that they have received your ballot. In California BTW... Easy peasy...
