Le Roi de Pot

Why do you think he did it.

Providing leadership for COVID is such soft ball for ANY President ...You just have to listen to the experts, be forthright and people will rally around you ... had Trump done the NORMAL thing- I bet his electoral prospects would be different. Instead he fought everyone and carved a disastrous path that he forced America to take.

It defies logic. Question is why?

On UPDATE:

There could have been more than one driver , I get it -- but choose what you think is the primary reason for his behavior.

his latest behavior? If it's the former, I don't believe the correct option is up there.
He was feeding into existing conspiracy theories about the virus as a hoax, playing to the worst among us. Then, I think, the fact he thought it was primarily in the blue states was a silver lining, but he's kept it up even as the red states have become hotspots.

Normal people don’t talk and act this way. They just don’t. None of this is normal.

The fact that we all have to discuss his mental illness, without calling it mental illness is gonna make us all crazy.

Mainly, he didn't want to hurt his re-election and he did not want to hurt the economy. The GOP truly believe the economy should be as unregulated as possible, even if it means workforce is lost due to illness etc. They are shortsighted.

Other reasons: Blue state problem, it effects minorities worse than white people. (I don't think it's a deliberate attempt to kill them, it's just that they don't give a fuck)

And the things he thinks look weak are really off the wall. It is a glimpse into a really f*cked up psyche.

His re-election is apparently his only reason for living. Anything that he perceives to stand in the way of that, must be gone. I think that herd immunity was decided as the way to proceed from the get-go, or some version of do nothing and let it work out by itself.

By causing more mail-in votes, and since he could manipulate the operations of the Post Office, he controlled that as well.

Being in the hotel business means a shutdown would have been catastrophic for his finances, which are already shaky. I think that was a prime factor in his rush to reopen.

Plus, his ego makes him want to appear strong, though his perception of strong is misplaced. That's why he kept doubling down on the denials.

I really can't get inside of that kind of thinking. It really is tin pot dictator scenario. I suppose he is capable of causing any malady, in a sort of back yourself into it, kind of way.

1) Blue State problem that he wanted to hurt before the election and wanted to benefit on making money for the tRUMP Empire with supplies.

2) It threatened his properties from making money.

3) He tried to use it to insure that he would win re-election.

4) He has now been trying to use it to steal the election.

5) He is now used it along with hatred he poured gasoline on to cancel and/or rule the election invalid, unless he is the winner.

6) He is making sure that he kills as many Americans as he can for not making him successful and is trying to leverage extremely favorable terms to go away as the bigliest and bestest president ever.
