Mitt Romney lowers debate expectations (LIKE DUBYA AND SARAH BEFORE HIM...)

Why do Republicans always brag like they have the "no-brainer" answer to everything and their opponent is such a terrible dunce, and then before they face off it's the old "lower expectations" game....so predictable...

Watch, they act like Biden is just the biggest buffon alive and it will be the same "low expectation" thing with Ryan. Oh, he stayed standing up the whole time so in a way he WON!

Screw that - put up or shut up Repukes, WIN THE DEBATE, don't "exceed expectations." I know it's hard when you have been on every side of every issue but still....

With just over a week to go before he faces President Obama in their first debate, Republican presidential challenger Mitt Romney lowered expectations a hair, noting it is his first time in a presidential debate and his opponent is an "eloquent, gifted speaker."

"The president is obviously a very eloquent, gifted speaker - he'll do just fine," Romney told Fox News in an interview from Dayton, Ohio. "I've, you know, I've never been in a presidential debate like this and it will be a new experience."

Romney said the American people will make "their assessment as to who's the better speaker," but he believes that regardless they'll be drawn to his plan for the nation.

I used to think I would respect him for his business acumen at the least but he has failed to impress.

If he doesn't screw something up spectacularly I will be surprised.

Mitt was in nearly 20 debates in the primaries while the President hasn't been in a debate in four years.

At least Mitt is mentally preparing himself for defeat.

What was the reality show better known as the Republican debate series then? Why because he won't be asked what his favorite commandment is or whether he has Johnny Cash on his ipod he feels a little under prepared? Please. He's been campaigning for 7 years... he's had a little time to nail down his positions on stuff.
