Republicans need to do an intervention with their leader, Mitch McConnell.

"Oh Mitch! Do you really and truly agree with Herr Leader that the ballots are rigged and do not need to be counted and that we need a continuation for Donald J Trump?"

If so, you need to be removed from office. Immediately. You are just as big a threat to our democracy as Donald Trump.

Somewhere there must be some rational and sensible Republicans? Somewhere? They need to intervene with Mr McConnell.

For the sake of our country.

What makes you think they object to a continuation of their Cult Leader?

I'm guessing they're perfectly fine with anything Drumpf or Turtle do or say.

I think we just might be "Waiting for Guffman".

These people no longer exist.

As long as they get what they want, Hitler could be their nominee and they wouldn't even blink.

They won't.

Americans need to do an intervention with the republican party, though.

This takeover is really happening. Has happened. There are no 'rational Republicans' who will save us.

We need aggressive Democrats. Democrats who have fire in their bellies, who understand how to use today's media, who are not afraid to fight dirty, and who understand the stakes and understand the level of malignancy that we are dealing with. Unfortunately, I do not think that the foregoing describes our current Congressional leadership.

They are all very silent. We can read it no other way but that silence is consent.

Tragic.

They believe that they are entitled to force the views of the white ultraconservative minority on the diverse majority. By colluding with foreign powers if necessary. They rewrite the rules as they go. Whatever serves their interests today. The end justifies any means. Through the antimajoritarian Senate and Electoral College, and through their gerrymandering of state legislatures, they have achieved minority rule and now they are trying to cement it in place. They have no interest in sharing power with us, ever again.

We must recognize this and reckon with it. And we must elect and appoint party leaders who recognize this and are willing to break norms and reshape institutions that keep us from exercising power.
