He doesn't know he is President....he thinks he is a game-show host or a stand-up comedian...

That's why his people go to see him. Just for the entertainment. They don't go to hear him talk about issues that matter in their lives. It is more like the Comedy Club than a political event.

When you compare the way he talked in his interviews with Bob Woodward and the way he talks on stage, in front of his supporters, it is a world of difference. He actually sounded intelligent talking to Woodward. At his rallies, he sounds like a red-neck Billy Bob that's had a few too many to drink. He seldom will say anything with more than two syllables.

He is the Apprentice-in-Chief. He wants to call names and mock people and get a few laughs. That has been his primary job as President.

On November 3rd, it will be so cool to hear someone say, "Donald Trump, you're fired!"

Though his political speeches are more like standup comedy, it is really bad comedy. A lot of the responses from the audience are more conditioned now and there's a lot less enthusiasm, like they've heard this same tired routine over and over again. Though he still has a lot of support from his base, it does seem rather half-hearted now. I suppose it is a good thing that Trump can't throw those huge rallies anymore, because I doubt he'd get the turnout he did in 2016. Now he has an excuse.

It's unfathomable to me that there are supporters of his who hang on his every word, when it's always the same seven or eight riffs.

In Woodward's book, the reader sees how Trump uses almost exactly the same words, phrases and sentences every single time he returns to one of his recurring themes, even if months elapse between him returning to these particular themes.

He's such a crashing bore. The sad thing is how he THINKS he's funny, clever and witty. He's just so pathetic.

He doesn't have a humorous bone in his body. But of course his idiotic audience finds his casual cruelty hilarious. They are so easily amused.

He sounds like the guy at the end of the bar for his redneck cult followers, yet speaks in softer tones and complete sentences for Bob Woodward.

But if he pictures his cult audience naked, the rallies will get shorter and shorter.

of angry drunks I've known.

There is a quote I've been trying to run down; it is in one of the books--perhaps A Very Stable Genius, where someone cornered Trump and called him "an act" to his face. Trump responded, paraphrasing but close: "Totally. I'm totally an act. I'm amazed people don't understand this."

If anyone remembers who it was who cornered him, let me know. It was possibly Scaramucci? Or maybe Lewandowski?

The idiot on stage does try to lead his mob, but in other ways just follows them, taking cues from Fox and telling them what he thinks they want to hear. It's like if Tom Brady was going to New York to play a road game against the Jets and went up into the stands to join the drunken low-brow fans hurling insults instead of quarterbacking the team. Private Trump is still ignorant, but dangerously exhibits not caring in addition to not knowing.

And, it's the same damn schtick night after night after night after night. His cult is there to hear his "greatest hits." Someone here likened Trump to Fat Elvis. It's much the same thing. The only difference is that Trump hasn't been found dead on the toilet after an overdose. He's only a caricature of what they think he is. Unlike Elvis, he never really was the person they've come to see perform.

that has been thrust upon the American people for the last 4 decades. People who were already uneducated, fearful and pissed off at the direction their lives had taken found something that would make them feel good about themselves. Demonize "the other". The 24-7 bullshit spewed from right-wing media enflames them. The "reality" TV shows that were such a success - duck dynasty, swamp people, kardashians, big brother, survivor, jersey shore, the list goes on ad infinitum, make them feel like- Yes!, they're just like me! This is real life! It boggles the fuckin' mind. They live in an alternate reality. It's so depressing at times.

It doesn’t apply to everyone and certainly not to those here who enjoy such obviously Manufactured BS Because surely they know it as such. No, I speak of those who cannot tell the difference between fact and fiction, fantasy and reality or who can but prefer a reinterpreted perversion of reality because they don’t like what they cannot help but see in the real world.

Pro wrestling is to some extent an example and who is the only person running for President who actually participated in one act of this farce? Why, it’s Donald J Trump. Then, to the total astonishment of anyone with half a brain, he actually wins! Much religious talk and dogma is another example as is Fox “News” or the Hallmark channel although the later doesn’t pretend to be anything but fiction. More than a few of its viewers however imagine the supernatural parts to actually be a thing while knowing the actual story itself to be fictional.

He thinks that the president was always a reality tv star, that the only job of being president is the tv part. That must be how he always functions, and that's why his companies go bankrupt. He's all show and no business.

demonstrating a willingness to laugh at oneself, at least occasionally, is a good attribute in a comedian.

Trumpsky laughs at people and their troubles, never laughs with anyone, or at himself.

Mary Trump's book.

When his brother got mad at him at a family event and dumped some mashed potatoes on Donald's head, the entire family laughed at his expense. He was totally humiliated and would never intentionally make himself the butt of his own jokes.

I don't recall at what age this happened, but I am a firm believer in the theory of Arrested Development. His emotional age varies so much that there were most certainly several bad episodes that contributed to his sociopathy. His father's incessant abuse is at the top.

He needs to be diagnosed and treated, or else his life of misery will continue until he's dead. Maybe a NAMI chapter would have some info on how to get the ball rolling.

The general public will continue to destroy him. Mean people suck. Those folks going out of their way to bully him for mental illness is itself a mental illness. They just go about their life, wallowing in their fake superiority. It's pathetic.

I wish him well.
