Ive spent the last month driving back and forth to Santa Monica to be with Joanne and her husband, Henry. She told me that she wasnt going anywhere until November 3rd. She really tried to hang on. Ever morning she had her coffee in her RBG mug.
Henry texted me last night about losing both his heroines in two days.
Im glad I have my DU crowd because life just got a lot harder to face.

(4,104 posts)She still has all her mental faculties. Terrible to outlive your child, no matter how old they are.

(892 posts)....for such a huge loss, PlanetBev. How terrible for you.
And you are so right to mention that losing a child is hard, no matter how old you are. I feel deep empathy for Joanne's mother, too.
I wish Joanne could have gotten her wish to hold on to see Trump voted out of office. But she sounds like an amazing person. I love that she drank her morning coffee from an RBG mug! That makes me smile.
I feel for Henry, too. How terrible for him.
I will be thinking of Joanne when I vote this year. I am deeply moved just having read your post.
Much love to you, my dear.....
