There are no "Democratic" or "Republican" states.

There may be some states that have a majority of Democrats or a majority of Republicans in them, but they do not always vote that way. For example, Wisconsin in the last election. It went to Donald Trump. Now he dismisses it as a "Democratic" state.

Most states have a large percentage of Democrats and Republicans.

So, I guess Donald Trump will not campaign or try to win the state of Kentucky. The Blue Grass state has more registered Democrats than registered Republicans. It is also the home of Donald Trump's number one accomplice in maladministration of government, Mitch McConnell.

By attempting to shift political blame from himself by calling cities and states "Democratic". Donald Trump continues to divide this country in unacceptable ways.

A lot of that is 'legacy' --- people who were raised as Democrat, and still voting Democrat for local offices, but voting Republican in federal elections.

I like Capt. McGrath, and hope she retires the odious turtle. I do think with an old-line Democrat having won the Governorship, there is real hope of that.

Blue State drumbeat a while ago. It's useful in some ways but not others.

We are divided though now, for sure.

And the lingering bitterness toward certain states for disappointing election results, like Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004, is pretty ridiculous too when sweeping generalizations are used.

Democrats vote in the reddest of the red states and sometimes their voices are only only heard through the congressman they help elect, if their state isn’t gerrymandered!

Proud to be a DC voter who would prefer to forget those elections in 80, 84, 88 for Dutch and Bush I.
