In unusually sharp language, the Democratic governor accused Mr. Trump and Republicans who control the Legislature of promoting conspiracy theories and spreading misinformation about the virus and the status of the Pennsylvania economy, which he said is reopened despite the mitigation measures he has imposed.
I believe the vast majority of Pennsylvanians understand what we had to do in the beginning was necessary to buy the time to keep people safe before we got the capacity we needed to address this virus, Mr. Wolf said. And the vast majority simply dont buy into the conspiracy theories or fear mongering from the president or from the Harrisburg Republicans about this virus.
Mr. Wolf spoke at a news conference in York one day after U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV in Pittsburgh invalidated key parts of his administrations early pandemic response, including his orders requiring people to stay at home and shuttering thousands of businesses deemed non-life-sustaining.
Mr. Wolf had since eased many of the restrictions the plaintiffs objected to in their lawsuit, but Judge Stickman also ruled against the states current size limits on indoor and outdoor gatherings.
The governors lawyers were preparing an appeal.

(1,977 posts)There was nothing really of a federal matter in the Governor's orders. Federal courts don't get to approve SAH orders issued by State Governors. The State can easily say they don't recognize the courts jurisdiction and there isn't really anything the court can realistically do.

That is some deep-stuck-stuff when 4 generations can't let go of a name.
More 'stone' than conservative; an un-moving and very mossy rock-publicon.
The name is not the reality.
I wish the lowIQanone-sense stupidity would go away in the sunshine.
Alas, "idiocracy" is immune to reality.

That is the problem with Trump stacking the bench. They are not real judges: they are just arbiters of Trump and the Repuke agenda. This ruling is nuts. Centre County had 212 new cases today and the state had over 1,100. My county, Montgomery County, had 68 new cases. Cases could easily get worse in the fall/winter. PA NEEDS the regulations.
